About Us

John would like to welcome you to his country to show you the beauty and wonder of Tanzania, and other countries in Africa

John was born and raised in Tanzania and has been a safari driver and guide since moving to the town of Moshi in 2001. He grew up in western Tanzania and has always had a passion for animals. You cannot help but be inspired by his excitement when he is your safari guide. He has a vast array of knowledge from his life experiences growing up in Africa and the professional tour guide school he attended in Arusha, Tanzania.

We have a knowledgeable and friendly staff that are experienced, trained safari guides and excellent at their job. All of our guides are fluent in English. We also have tour guides who can speak Italian, Spanish, French and more. Their number one goal is to keep you safe, happy, and informed in any and all ways possible. Open Africa Tours is like a family and when you are on safari with us, you will be treated like family.

Open Africa features safaris in East Africa and trekking on Kilimanjaro. Climbers and safari goers enjoy the top guides, equipment and service. A rare treat for the adventurous traveler.

Open Africa Tours and Safaris is dedicated to providing opportunities to those who atherwise would not have them. We are able to use our profits to provide assitance in these areas by funding various projects that we have initiated ourselves. We are always pleased to find a funding boost from those of you who identify with our mission.
Our social responsability model covers as much as we can to include Orphans, Street Children, and other vulnerable members of the community.

If you would like to help us achieve our goals, please make a donation. We are currently fundraising for Mugombe Village Community Water Project. Visit our website to find out more.
